Introducing BWC Ambassador: Laura Meldrum

We are delighted to introduce Laura Meldrum as a BWC Ambassador. Laura works within the HM Connect team, managing and nurturing Harper Macleod’s relationships with high street and rural law firms across Scotland.

With over 8 years’ experience at a full-service law firm, Laura specialised in employment law before moving into business development. This background provides her with invaluable insight into private practice and the challenges faced by those delivering legal services in Scotland.

HM Connect is a referral and support network for high street and rural law firms, with over 400 member firms throughout Scotland. It has grown to become Scotland’s leading referral network, representing over 30% of all legal firms in the country.

Laura’s professional leadership extends beyond HM Connect. She is a past president of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association, was a finalist in the 2017 Scottish Women’s Awards “Services to Law” category, and is currently co-chair of Women in Law Scotland, a group promoting gender equality in the legal profession.

Passionate about Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, Laura is regularly invited to speak on mental health and wellbeing. She serves on the LawScot Wellbeing Steering Group for the Law Society of Scotland, chairs Harper Macleod’s internal wellbeing committee, and is a certified Mental Health First Aider.
